With a fine reputation of respect and trust, DWA Construction, Inc continues to build a legacy of quality, reliability and excellence.

DWA started working in construction part-time during the years 1954 to 1960 helping to build homes and small commercial projects. Darrell decided to get a Utah State Construction license in 1961 with his brother-in-law under the name of Anderson and Selley.

Together they built approximately twelve homes a year for the first two or three years. In the fall of 1964, they were asked to build a large grocery store in Smithfield, Utah that they completed in July 1965. This was the start of their commercial building business.

Following the building of the grocery store, they built a medical plaza in Logan, Utah, a gymnasium and classroom addition in Richmond, Utah, and a few large homes. They obtained a contractor’s license in Idaho and in Wyoming and built a gymnasium and classroom addition in Cokeville, Wyoming, and a hospital in Malad City, Idaho. Darrell and his brother-in-law continued to prosper always doing more building every year.

In February 1974, partners Anderson and Selley parted and went their separate ways. Anderson became DWA Construction, Inc., and Darrell brought in his three sons as part owners of the business. Over time, one of the sons sold his shares back to the company to pursue other interests.

After many wonderful years Darrell semi-retired in 1989 turning the business over to his sons, one son is the president and general manager, and the other son is the vice-president and secretary/treasurer.

DWA Construction, Inc. has continued to expand its business operations in three states: Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Throughout each of the three states schools, churches, banks, medical buildings, office complexes, airport hangers and towers, culinary water tanks, athletic fields, large custom homes, apartments and hotels, research and laboratory buildings, city buildings and offices, industrial buildings, and several large commercial buildings have been built.

The construction company has built a fine reputation of respect and trust with many business owners, school boards, various church representatives, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers. The corporation has earned many awards and recognitions for quality work and service.

The firm has considerable experience in design built, fast track, low bid, and construction management on various projects of size and classification. Many of the firm’s business clients are repeat customers. The business offers any type of construction service for all projects and for all clients.
